Good to know about the UV-5R Mini
Where and how the transmit bands (model type) of the Baofeng UV-5R Mini are stored, from an analysis of the manufacturer's FreqRangeTool, and how RadioCloud handles it. (Korean only)→
- Based on a static analysis of BF-5RMini_FreqRangeTool v1.0.0 distributed by ROWA (Taiwan), RadioCloud writes the model type to the same location (factory area 0xF250) with the same values.
- To keep receive wide and limit only transmit to 144–146 / 430–440 MHz, choose EuropeCEGT. To narrow receive as well, choose CE.
- Factory calibration values (power, squelch, deviation, etc.) are shown but never written. This radio uses a different protocol from the regular UV-5R, so do not choose the regular UV-5R for it.
- This feature has been verified on a real radio with read, write and read-back.
